Artists for Global Peace

Artists for Global Peace - Join

Artists from around the world in any artistic discipline can become AGP affiliates by prescribing to the tenets of AGP and its manifesto. They will be able to support and communicate with each other using a bulletin board. This encourages common peace-building projects around the world, serves as a site for linking artists and sponsors, and stimulates the imagination of those looking for artistic inspiration in their own areas of the globe. The artists themselves, in embodying the philosophy of mutual respect, will be a microcosm of global cooperation and dignity.

AGP is in the process of forming an organizing board and invites your input.  Are you interested in this board?  Are you interested in joining our chat line:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AGP_UNA?yguid=75636985?  Please feel free to contact the director by e-mail at JDimmock@earthlink.net for further information.

"Artists have a special role to play in the global struggle for peace.  At their best, artists speak not only to people; they speak for them.  Art is a weapon against ignorance and hatred and an agent of public awareness.  Art was one of civilization's first global movements.  Centuries ago, a school of art in China might influence artists in Persia, who might inspire their counterparts in India when work might form the basis for a new school of painting in France...  Art opens new doors for learning, understanding, and peace among peoples and nations."

- Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations
