Human Rights Day

On Monday, December 10th, 2018, we celebrated 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. with four special sessions from 12 noon to 9 pm, at the birth place of the United Nations, the War Memorial Veterans Building, 401 Van Ness Avenue. Room 210. The Celebration was presented by the UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION, USA, Chapters of SAN FRANCISCO, MARIN COUNTY, SAN DIEGO, and BEVERY HILLS, in Partnership with the AMERICAN LEGION POST 315, as well as the UNITED NATIONS OFFICE OF THE HIGH COMMISSIONER ON HUMAN RIGHTS and the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY LAW HUMAN RIGHTS CENTER.

Program Sponsors included the Consulate General of Switzerland, the Association of Junior Leagues International, and the League of Women Voters of San Francisco. Featured speakers include SCOTT P. CAMPBELL, Senior Human Rights Officer, United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights, and KAREN FERGUSON, Ph. D., Executive Director, International Rescue Committee.
